What makes a young Swiss Bachelor

young swiss bachelor cross logo

Every land has its fair share of most eligible bachelors, yet no one actually talks about it so plainly. At least that’s what it feels like. Some men seem to attract more attention, have dated several women of (adjacent) friend groups, and somehow their reputation remains untainted. They’re good guys, and we could even say actual gentlemen. But the real question is what then makes them so dateable ?

Coquetas are all about serious journalism and in order to explore this quiet yet active phenomenon, we contacted three distinct Swiss Bachelors to learn more about their, what-seems, irresistible charm with the ladies. How did we make the selection you ask? Simply through observation, facts, and recounts of friends or acquaintances disclosing their crush on these men. And talking with the concerned proves to be the best way to learn more about the hot successful boy phenomenon. Maybe he cycles everywhere, wears the greatest jeans you’ve ever seen in your life, DJs (but not in the bad way), surprisingly drives a black SUV, or cooks actually very well (and he’s not a chef). But overall he’s just genuinely a nice person, and the thing is you’ll never know who the dream man is because our Bachelors must remain anonymous.

In all means in covering Swiss ground, I met with these three men. And by meeting, I mean DM’d or Whatsapp’ed — the European way through long voice notes, obviously. Coquetas have gone a little too international and meeting face to face is harder. Thank god we have the internet. And after all, love is a universal language. It doesn’t matter where we are, the rules pretty much are the same in most places today. Anyways, with ties between Geneva, Zürich, Basel, and Lausanne, each one of our interviewees got asked the same questions. Let’s see what we can learn.

swissdreamboy dream partner

How old were you when you first started dating?
Swiss Boy 1: Around 16-17, I had a crush on this girl and we had mutual friends.
Swiss Boy 2: Late. [Lol] I think my first real date was when I was 14.
Swiss Boy 3: 14.

Give us 3 reasons that make you so seductive.
SB1: [Says he doesn’t like doing this. He’s humble] Good-looking [He needed the green light to say it…again, humble] Social, Spontaneous.
SB2: I think these are the three main reasons that make a man attractive… confidence, fun, different. And yeah everyone is different but you know what I mean.
SB3: [Didn’t answer for himself but what makes a partner seductive… let’s just say it’s applicable to him] When the other person knows what they want in life and also from you; In general, having a passion that you love to talk about and being curious; Having an open Läbensfreud [joy of life] that radiates outwards.

Are you in a relationship right now?
SB1: No.
SB2: Yes.
SB3: No.

If not, would you want to be in one?
SB1: Sure, why not.
SB3: Yeah.

Why do you think you’re not in one right now?
SB1: I don’t necessarily take the time.
SB3: Unfortunately haven’t met the right person yet who fits into my turbulent life.

Ever used dating apps? And how do you feel about them?
SB1: No, never. I think there was a little bit of never needing to use them. Doesn’t seem like an “organic” way to meet people. Just was never interested in them.
SB2: Yes. Sometimes it’s fun when you need attention or a confidence boost, but most of the time I didn’t like it. I prefer more natural encounters in real life. And I obviously don’t use them anymore as I’m in a relationship.
SB3: Yes, multiple times and different ones. Partly, and especially when traveling, it can open a lot of doors for you, but otherwise it’s often just more of a toy where you end up not even meeting up. But I have also met very lovely, great, and interesting people. Also, I barely use them anymore because I find that if you want to find a partner, real life is generally better since you can directly see the first interactions with a person and aren’t just instantly focused on looks alone.

Do you lose interest easily?
SB1: Depends of the person, and usually no. I’ve rarely dated someone where it was like “No, actually not.”
SB2: Yes… But I’m still working on it and I’m glad to see progress.
SB3: Yes, unfortunately a little bit, because I travel a lot and am also quite busy.

What makes you end a relationship:
SB1: I’ve never broken up with someone.
SB2: If it’s just a “flirt,” it’s really easy for me to end it when I lose interest. But when I’m in a “real” relationship, I really commit and it’s very hard for me to end it.
SB3: I think trust is the most important thing as it provides the foundation for a happy relationship. If that ever falls away, it gets difficult.

How many people have you dated at the same time?
SB1: Three. [It wasn’t a secret, he says, and I call it “deconstruction”]
SB2: As I remember 4 or 5.
SB3: Only 2 so far. Even if it’s just short flings, I’m a person who likes to focus on one person.

Being the young Swiss Bachelor that you are; what are your seduction tips?
SB1: [Was feeling to humble to answer…]
SB2: Be yourself, confident and go talk in real life if the opportunity comes up. Try to look good, but I think if you are yourself (and confident) your appearance is not the priority to seduce someone. Also take initiatives!
SB3: Listening, looking into their eyes, being interested, physical touch during conversations, intellectuality, and generally just being down to do or try things.

Best date spot?
SB1: Parks. The hill of Parc du Milan is good. Also my balcony in Geneva.
SB2: A place where you can talk freely without noticing people next to you listening to your conversation. I always go to either in a cafe or a restaurant (a restaurant is too much for a first date). Don’t really know why. But I have this “traditional” part in me of “taking care” of the situation.
SB3: I think classic dinner and drinks always work, but I think doing an activity is something you forget less easily and is therefore better because it leaves an impression.

What do you cook for your date?
SB1: Parmigiana.
SB2: I’ve rarely cooked for my date (except for my girlfriend). But for a date, we would always eat outside.
SB3: Pasta, Risotto, Fried Rice —I love to cook and do it a lot, so whatever the heart desires haha.

coquetas carbs for you

Worst date spot:
SB1: A bar. Definitely, a bar.
SB2: Mcdo [Lol].
SB3: Well, if it’s a first date, definitely the cinema.

Celebrity crush:
SB1: Hard to say… Adèle Exarchopoulos or Adèle Haenel. Oh, and Kiko Mizuhara.
SB2: Don’t know hahahah. [Asked him to think harder… he couldn’t]
SB3: Léa Seydoux.

What’s your dream partner like:
SB1:Too many things. Someone with a radiant personality [as in solaire, solar, makes more sense], funny with like a sweet side, artistic flair, enjoys nature, passionate.
SB2: My actual one.
SB3: Someone who enjoys life, does her own shit, likes to travel, is spontaneous, likes to party, and supports me in every way.

Alright, so what do we think? What knowledge can you take back with you to the tame Swiss streets? I must admit, I think we would need to ask more hard hitting questions but that must remain for the next young Bachelor edition. And obviously, if any of our Coquetas readers are interested in one of our Swiss Boys, you know you can always email us. Except for SB2 — he’s taken.
