When ‘A’ asked me to write a guest article for Coquetas, I couldn’t dare to say no. It’s an honour to be able to share my work with such eloquent baddies.
My name is Frida, I am the founder of the jewellery brand Josefin which has just opened for business! I hand make and carve sterling silver rings and necklaces into beautiful ornaments that are made to be passed down and cherished.
In 2020, I had another jewelry brand called Fiffitrix, where I mainly focused on beaded creations, however, there was one thing I was longing for in beaded jewelry – the ability to become a significant part of the wearer’s every day, and stand the test of time.
Fast forward to January 2025, when I met my dear friend Louise at an event. I recognized her as a jeweler and we got talking. I explained to her my longing for learning how to work with more solid metals, but I didn’t know where to start and everything seemed so expensive. Luckily, she took me under her wing and taught me the skills needed to make jewelry in exchange for some help with her brand. I am so grateful for that day meeting her, because she really taught me everything I know now.

When developing the concept for Josefin (my middle name), I kept thinking about the concept of time and objects, and the emotional relationship we can have to something that a person has passed on to you – or even an object that reflects a good moment in time. From this, I started documenting objects and designing traditional shapes and engravings that resemble that nostalgic emotional feeling for me.
Many people are lucky enough to have something that resembles their heritage, but Josefin offers you the idea to start your own traditions and your own legacy.
I am excited to say now that Josefin is now open for commissions, hand-made to order locally here in London.
