They say the eyes eat first, but what happens when all you get to do is smell the delicious scents without ever having the satisfaction of the first taste?
If the strongest hit of dopamine happens in the second before the needle punctures the vein of a heroin addict, then perhaps it is the anticipation that really sends the body into overdrive, before anything has even happened. That same anticipation exists when you see something beautiful in a window display. The excitement of running into the store, touching it, smelling it, trying it on, and, without even glancing at the price, swiping your card. You’re already imagining running home, ripping off the tags, and putting on your new acquisition for a long night of cocktails and lies.
It’s not a want. It’s a need….an addiction
Sometimes, the delayed gratification of waiting until you get home is simply too much. You have to leave the store with it on.
I might not understand drugs, but I do understand that shopping is a high. And by now, it should be pretty obvious that Coquetas.online is a shopaholic and it’s not exactly anonymous…
The first step is admitting you have a problem, and the curated shopping section of our site is my first step toward redemption. Donating my finds, dropping the links into our Shopaholics tab for the greater good. Because if I don’t buy them, I am certain one of our coquetas will.
You could call me dramatic. You could assume I am hoarding just to hoard, and that with so much quantity, not everything can be quality. But these eyes are sharp. Like a huntress, I can spot a deal, a good fabric, or a hidden gem from across the room. Sometimes all it takes is the feel of the fabric grazing my hands as I pass by the racks. Other times, it’s a blurry picture online or a mysterious caption. Nothing escapes me.
Now comes the real challenge. How does an aware addict (I cannot say reformed) wander the streets of Paris?
Every corner presents another temptation. Every window is another hit. The technique is simple: eye candy. Inhale the window displays, and keep walking.
If the store is way, way out of budget, I am allowed to go inside and try things on. But only then.
So here is some of the eye candy that has caught my attention during this tumultuous exercise in mental strength.
I am not going to tell you the name of the places where I found these beautiful treasures, because I am still contemplating whether I will go back to buy them…oops

I thought it was Prada, but then I looked at the tag and it was Helmut Lang
